According to IMO Regulation II-1/3-9 SOLAS Convention, and the Guidelines for Construction, Installation, Maintenance and Inspection/Survey of Means of Embarkation and Disembarkation, the ladders and gangways should be periodic static proof load tested at 5-year intervals.
We offer two kinds of water bags for this proof load testing. One is the cylinder shape water bags, nominally rated from 100kg to 600kg each. It is the same with the water bags for the lifeboat load test. Another is the gangway water bags that we specially design.
Meanwhile, gangway water bag test weights can use for the load testing of gangway, accommodation ladder, small bridge, platform, floor and other long structures.
Normally, our standard gangway test water bags are 650L and 1300L capacity. If for the larger gangways and small bridges testing, you could choose our 1-tonne Mattress Bags (MB1000). Apart from that, we could also make other size and shape load test bags upon the clients’ special request.
Usually, each gangway load testing bags equip with one filling valve, one discharge valve, and one air-relief valve. The discharge valve can be controlled by one rope. By the way, there are some handles at both sides. So it will be easier for the worker to fix the water bag test weights by these handles.
